Information for software partners

Here you will find answers to frequently asked questions

Here you will find information on frequently asked questions from new and existing software providers on various topics relating to IGH data and processes (formalities, catalogues, ikk, schemas and IGH451).

Formal Matters

  • The IGH standards are freely accessible and do not require any contractual commitment to the IGH.
  • The IGH supports all software companies in implementing the IGH standards at no cost to the software company.
  • To be listed as a software partner on the IGH website, we require confirmation of the functionality via a demonstration. Listing as an IGH software partner is free of charge.
  • There is no technical acceptance or testing procedure
  • A software’s IGH ranking is a ranking of the application. The figure does not evaluate the application itself or its range of functions, but is a weighted figure reflecting the depth of integration with the IGH standards.
  • You can also implement the interfaces as a new software partner
  • Software providers cannot become IGH members.

Schemas / Documentation

Catalogues

  • The catalogues contain links (URLs) to images, technical data sheets, schematics or HTML pages. The required files can be downloaded as needed.
  • There are no restrictions or terms of use for the published catalogues, subject to the data protection guidelines on our website.
  • Currently, all our members’ catalogues can be downloaded as XML files free of charge and without registration. There will be a minor change in the near future. The catalogues will no longer be freely downloadable. Registration (free of charge) will be required to access the catalogues. Software partners are also permitted to register, provided they specify the data recipients. For the terms of use, please refer to our privacy policy IGH – Data Protection; no contract is required.
  • We recommend implementing only DataExpert®BIM for new developments. This catalogue never contains less information than the old DataExpert® format. DataExpert® will remain available until all software partners have made the switch.
  • There is no API access via which the catalogues can be downloaded. We have set up a directory containing the latest catalogues, where you can view all the information on the available catalogues in a single file: https://docs.igh.ch/dokumente/BeschreibungAktKat_en.pdf.
  • Catalogue data can be used within an application for cross-supplier product searches and product comparisons. It is up to the applications to decide how they use the data.
  • In the NPK section, for licensing reasons, we will not be providing any further information (beyond the AppMon items) for the time being, as the link to the calculation bases is currently being misused by many AI-based tools.
